A handy tool to quickly calculate the following characteristics of a corrugated box or roll of paper in the corrugated industry:* The necessary compressive strength of a box under a variety of environmental and storage conditions* The expected compressive strength of a manufactured corrugated box* The expected Edge Crust Test (ECT) for a given liner and medium combination* The expected Caliper for a given flute and combination of liners and medium* The lineal feet of paper left on a roll* The actual basis weight of the paper on a rollThis tool uses the average liner and medium targets for a variety of papers common in the industry. Also, the compression formulas utilize a simplified version of the McKee formula and should provide a good general estimate of necessary and expected performance. Of course, these calculations should not be substituted for actual, physical testing.
